"Meccaniche Veneziane" translates to "Mechanical Devices from Venice". The brand, originally known as Meccaniche Veneziane, was founded by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli in 2017. We present this timepiece: the MECCANICHE VENEZIANE Nereide Automatic Watch. It features a self-winding automatic movement with 21 jewels, a sweeping second hand, and a date display.
The Nereide pays tribute to the Venetian submarine called Nereide which was built in the Royal Arsenale in 1913 and commissioned to the engineer De Bernardis by the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Encased in a 41mm round stainless-steel case with display case back, it is fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel. Water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet / 20 ATM), it is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and retains its original signed screw-down crown.
The original blue dial is adorned with luminous silver-tone hour markers, a white minute/second track, and matching luminous silver hands. The date window is positioned at 3 o’clock.
This timepiece comes on its original brown leather two-piece strap and includes the original outer box and papers.
The watch remains in excellent condition, running accurately and functioning smoothly.
